  Iv been a patient of Dr. Deluca for over 5 years. Recently one of my fillings on my molar had come out during flossing, leaving a very sharp edge on my tooth. It has been extremely painful and sensitive, not to mention I'm constantly cutting the inside of my cheek open. I called immediately after this happened to make an appointment however the receptionist told me that the Hygienist was on vacation and couldn't book me in. Apparently he only has one Hygienist. He was also on vacation for weeks before. I had made repeated calls and left messages to his office but nobody ever answers or returns them. I finally got a hold of the receptionist and was told to come in 2 weeks later. At this point I had been waiting well over 6 weeks come in. On the day of my appointment I had to leave my work 2 hours early from Richmond to make it Downtown in time to see him before he closed. When I got to his office i waited for half an hour in the lobby before his receptionist acknowledged me. At this point I found out that his normal receptionist was on vacation and the temp replacement had no clue about my appointment! Aparantly is wasn't in the calender. She asked if I had any insurance coverage. (I work in the oil sands and my coverage is staggered so it wouldn't kick in for another couple of weeks. The main receptionist always knew about this and I was told that it wouldn't be a problem.) I explained the urgency of my situation and how i was in pain but was told the doctor was way too busy to see me. I asked if he had 30 seconds to talk to me ( he was about 10 feet away from me and could hear everything) but he wouldn't even acknowledge that I was there. She told me that if I wanted to see the doctor I would have to pay immediately upfront (around $1200 for a consultation and x-rays) and that i would have to wait until the end of the day to see the doctor. He may be in a fancy location downtown with all the bells and whistles but his customer service level is terrible. Regrettably, Over the years I recommended his business to many friends and family. Although I have never had an issue with his actual craft, his business platform, organization and customer service is terrible. Moving forward i will actively advise people to stay away from his business. Way to take care of your patients Doc!
